Finland 2000

School Violence

Courage

From Finland, the team traveled to Germany where they along with three other Teen Missions teams (Turkey, Switzerland and Iceland) spent several days in classes and group study to prepare for the return home.

Debrief is just as important as Boot Camp, because believe it or not you become very use to "life on the team" and it's totally different from life back at home. The classes and group study the teams attend prepare them ,not only to return home and remain spiritually consistent and strong but the training also prepares them to share their experience effectively and to get involved with evangelism back in their local churches.

Of course, in between all those classes the teams get much needed R&R ! ( no one complained too much about that either :)

Although Debrief marked the coming end to our time as a team, everyone was looking forward to it.  However, after a rushed boarding (which we were getting pretty good at!) we were told the train was having problems and we were to off load and go to a different train, which we were told would be held for us.  We got there just in time to see it clear the station!  This little incident provided a new opportunity for our flexibility and team unity to be tested.  If any one on the Finland team wanted to see what it was like to sleep in a train station, they got their chance!  We weren't exactly thrilled at falling behind schedule but we did get the opportunity to experience the culture in ways we might have missed other wise.  There were tense moments but as we trusted in God to work the details out to his perfect will, everything fell into place.   Finally after 72 hours of travel we arrived in Germany, tired but very happy!

Though not what we expected we learned a lot and really enjoyed those last few days together! We were blessed with great weather and an absolutely beautiful view of the German country side as well as a great day of sightseeing!
